VIII Class 10-17 Sashed Half Hexi Quilt & Tube Quilt

Lesson VIII

Intermediate Class

Two projects will be presented in this series. Each is appropriate for the advanced beginner or intermediate quilter. The photo below this text on the left is a sample of the Sashed Half Hexi quilt. A variety of fabric, cut into 2 1/2″ strips, is used for the Hexis. The sashing, best in a dark solid, is made from 1 1/2″ strips. Complete detailed instructions for the Sashed Half Hexi can be found on the Missouri Star Quilt website.

The second set of instructions will feature one version of the Tube Quilt. The photo below right shows one example of this quilt; the blocks can be placed in several other arrangements as well. Three fabric choices will be used in this lesson: Fabric A (light), Fabric B (dark) and Fabric C (medium.) A and B will be cut into 2 1/2″ strips; C will be cut into 4 1/2″ strips. The instructional video for the tube quilt technique, also from Missouri Star Quilt Company, is available here: Instructional Video.
